29 Advocacy McCleary Decision Update On Sept. 11, 2014, the State Supreme Court held the State Legislature in contempt of court in the McCleary school funding case because the Legislature has failed to because the legislature has failed to submit a plan to fully fund basic education by the 2017-18 school year. The court will allow the Legislature to “purge the contempt” and avoid sanctions by taking appropriate action during its 2015 legislative session. WSPTA's annual legislative issues survey is live -- please take the survey by Sept. 30 and tell us what issues are most important to you! Legislative Assembly Oct. 24-25 at Hilton Hotel in Vancouver, WA The WSPTA prepares a legislative platform with Top 5 and supported policy issues at the beginning of every legislative biennium. Don't forget to register to vote for the Nov. 4 election! You can register online until October 6, and in person until October 27.
