Ser and adjectives Adjectives are words that describe people or things. You can use the verb SER to describe what someone is like.

Ejemplos/Examples Carlos es serio. Ana es seria. Adjectives must match in GENER with the noun/subject they are describing.
Ejemplos/Examples Carlos es inteligente. Ana es inteligente. *When a adjective does not end in “o” or “a” the ending does not change (trabajador-hardworking…. is an exception to this rule)
Ejemplos/Examples Pedro es pelirrojo. Rosa y Julio son inteligentes. *Adjectives must also match in NUMBER with the noun(s) they are describing. *Must tack on an “s” to make it plural.

NEGATIVE STATMENTS To say what someone is not like, out a no in front of the verb No soy tonto. Soy inteligente.
