Nuoro (Nùgoro) is a town situated in the central-eastern part of Sardinia (Italy), at the foot of the Ortobene Mountain. The Nuoro countryside was one of the centre of the Nuragic Civilization (which developed in Sardinia from c. 1500 BC to c. 250 BC).
This is the main street of Nuoro where there are the best shops!
This is Grazia Deledda’s house. She is a famous writer born in Nuoro in 1871. She was The first italian woman to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature.
This is the Church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, situated in the heart of Nuoro
This fountain is located in a square called “I Giardinetti” (i.e. the little gardens).
This is the upper part of the "Giardinetti". Young people usually meet in this square
This is the lower part of the "Giardinetti" where children often play.
In Ottana there are also many traditional masks: “boes”, “merdules” and “sa filonzana”, that represents the toil in the fields and the fragility of human life
Siniscola is a little city near the sea in the East cost of Sardinia: there are 12.010 inhabitants. It lies at the foot of the mount “Albo” which is an important touristic resort. The most important square is the “Square of the market”. The most important churches are San Giovanni, Sant’Efisio, San Giuseppe and San Giacomo.
Near Siniscola there are wonderful beaches such as La Caletta.
