Target: How did the growth of cities affect life for Americans in the late 1800’s? What are the positives and negatives of living in a city like this? Bell Ringer
A. Urbanization- the movement of population from farms to cities- increased rapidly by the end of the 1800’s. B. A flood of immigrants and farmers moved to find a better life and jobs Go to slide 5 I. City Populations Grow
C. Many African Americans also moved from Southern farms to Northern cities.
