2 A. Urbanization- the movement of population from farms to cities- increased rapidly by the end of the 1800’s. B. A flood of immigrants and farmers moved to find a better life and jobs Go to slide 5 I. City Populations Grow

3 C. Many African Americans also moved from Southern farms to Northern cities.
