4 “I Can” Lessons 18.1, *18.2, *18.3, 18.4  I can organize data I have collected using observations, surveys, and experiments.  I can use data shown on double bar and line graphs to help me make predictions.  I can develop and use stem- and-leaf plots. Use TN14 and TN15 after lesson (see next slide) Teach 18.5 & 18.6 after TCAP. *Note: SPI dropped for (Lesson 18.2, 18.3, 20.3 and TN Handbook: pg. TN62, TN63)

5 “I Can” Lessons TN14 and TN15  I can describe the meaning of “data collection methods”.  I can describe the meaning of numerical data.  I can design an investigation to address a question.  I can explain how the method I use to collect data may affect the results. I can describe the meaning of categorical data. I can tell the difference between data that is described only with numbers and data that is grouped into categories. Use TN14 and TN15 after lesson 18.1

6 “I Can” Lesson  I can find the average (mean) of a set of numbers.  I can use mean, mode, and range to help me read, understand, and show data.  I can show data different ways such as on graphs and charts. Teach TN16 after lesson 18.8 (see next slide)

7 “I Can” Lesson TN16  I can understand and use mean, median, mode, and range.  I can describe the meaning of outlier.  I can identify outliers and explain their effect on mean, median, mode, and range. Teach TN16 after lesson 18.8

8 “I Can” Lessons 19.5 and *20.3  I can draw lines of symmetry in 2-dimensional figures (Reviews )  I can make prediction based on various data representations, including double bar and line graphs. *Note: SPI dropped for (Lesson 18.2, 18.3, 20.3 and TN Handbook: pg. TN62, TN63)

10 “I Can” Post TCAP: 7.1, 7.2  I can solve problems involving the addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of decimals.

11 “I Can” Post TCAP:  I can solve problems involving the multiplication and division of fractions.  I can solve problems involving the addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of mixed numbers.

12 “I Can” Post TCAP: 12.7  I know how the radius, diameter, circumference, and area of a circle are related.  I understand that the ratio of the circumference to the diameter is the same as the ratio of the area to the square of the radius (Pi).

13 “I Can” Post TCAP:  I understand that ratio is a way to compare two quantities.  I can use division to find equal ratios of two quantities.  I can read and write ratios written as a percentage.  I can read and write numbers in various forms (fractions, decimals, percents, and mixed numbers).  I can solve problems involving ratios, rates, and percents.

14 “I Can” Post TCAP: 17.4  I can use equations to describe simple relationships shown in a table or graph.

15 “I Can” Post TCAP:  I can apply percentages to make and interpret histograms and circle graphs.

16 “I Can” Post TCAP: ; 19.6  I can describe the effect of moving a figure up, down, left, or right.  I can describe the effect on symmetry of moving a figure up, down, left, or right.  I can use rotation, reflection, and symmetry to understand congruence.  I can use drawings and manipulatives to help me explore transformations such as rotation, reflection, and symmetry.

17 “I Can” Post TCAP: 20.1, 20.2, *20.3, 20.4  I can use a tree diagram or a list to help me determine all possible outcomes of a simple probability experiment.  I can determine the probability that an event (single or multiple) will happen.  I can use data found on double bar and line graphs, etc. to help me make predications. *Note: SPI dropped for (Lesson 18.2, 18.3, 20.3 and TN Handbook: pg. TN62, TN63)

18 “I Can” Use any additional math time this six weeks to explore Gold Seal lessons in math.
