Introduction The introduction includes: A hook (or lead)—to get the reader’s attention A general discussion or overview of the topic that you will be writing about and which leads to the thesis statement Thesis statement
The thesis contains three parts: The subject Your OPINION And the blueprint EXAMPLE: Martin Luther King changed the overall attitude of the entire country by leading the civil rights movement, fighting against the inequality towards people of color, and giving hope to those who were less fortunate.
Body Paragraphs 1) Begin with the TOPIC sentence 2) Context that leads to evidence 3 & 4) TWO sentences (minimum) which analyze the evidence 5) Transition 6,7,8 & 9) Sentences 2 through 5 again 10, 11, 12) Sentences 2 through 4 again 13) Conclusion (E, A, A, is a CHUNK of information)
