India Quiz Night

Time/Venue Venue: School Hall (Assuming we can get it for free, can’t see why not) or else we try and get the church hall for free (this would be the preferred venue due to size.If anyone knows someone who could get the parish hall for free could they let me know please) Date: 24 th April or 1 st May?? Time: Start admitting people at 7:30, the quiz would start at 8 giving them half an hour to buy drinks from the bar.

General Idea Roughly 100 people can fit into the hall so sit them in groups of 5 – 10 (quiz team). Upon entry each guest will be given a glass of champagne (or orange juice of they are driving). Some kind of nibbles or crispy type snacks at each table, maybe refill them at the end of each round if its fairly cheap. Bar selling beer and wine.

Cont. Hopefully we can find a minor celebrity of some kind, if not we can ask Julian Maybe 6 rounds to the quiz. After three we stop for the meal and then continue. During the meal there will be a speech made by Ms Wheatley (hopefully) and we can play a presentation about the project (or do this at the start). At the end prizes are given out to the winners etc. Possibly have a raffle draw if we can get enough prizes.

Food Unless anyone knows someone who owns a catering company and would be prepared to do food for free then food will have to be provided. Something simple like chilli con carne which is quite cheap and easy to make. Each member helping out provides a sizable pot?? Makes it cheap and easy… Another alternative would be to do a fish and chip supper, price of the food would have to be factored into the price of the tickets.

Drinks Bottles of red and white wine – not sure how many or how much at the moment Beer – 2/3 different types (preferably one Indian type) – ASDA should have some offers. Soft drinks ie coke, fanta etc for the under 18s (or the ones who you can’t pass of as 18)

Prices Ticket - £10 – 20 person (if we have a raffle then this will be their raffle ticket us well) Food – included in price Drinks – Wine £7 -10 a bottle, glass of wine - £1.50 – 2 per glass. Beer - £1.50 – 2 a bottle. Soft drinks - £0.60 a can.

Prizes Anything half decent that we can get donated. If anyone knows family or friends who can donate some that’d be great. Otherwise we just beg loads of different companies for donations of things like champagne or whatever.

If your interested in helping then could you please contact me to let me know via Facebook or whatever works best for you. My email is anthonyol@hotmail.co.ukanthonyol@hotmail.co.uk
