2 WWRP Polar Prediction Project (PPP)  Joint ECMWF-WWRP/THORPEX workshop on polar prediction (24-27 June 2013)  Special QJ issue (deadline 28 February 2014)  First YOPP planning meeting (28 June 2014)  New steering group members: Francesco Doblas-Reyes, Phil Reid, Don Perovich and Jonny Day  Launch of International Coordination Office for Polar Prediction (hosted by AWI) with associated website: polarprediction.net  ICO support through Neil Gordon and Stefanie Klebe  4 th Meeting of the PPP steering group (1-3 October 2013)  Development of a draft YOPP Implementation Plan  Trust Fund contributions from different WMO member states Progress: GIPPS

3 WCRP Polar Climate Predictability Initiative (PCPI)  Cecilia Bitz is new co-leader  Ted Shepherd participated in Reading Polar Workshop June 2013  Cecilia participated in SG4 meeting October 2013  Six different initiatives have been identified  Three initiatives are joint with PPP  Cooperation agreement with PPP  Pan PCPI meeting in April 2014 Progress: GIPPS
