What is career development? lifelong process of growth knowing who you are + knowing about opportunities + making decisions involves multiple transitions: school to uni, uni to employment, position to position, role to role, career to career etc. knowing what you want and having the career management skills to make it happen
It’s OK to be a little unclear It’s OK to be confused/unsure/anxious: this is a major transition point in your life and a very different environment It’s OK to change your mind: university is meant to be a time of discovery and growth which may challenge your ideas It’s OK to not know where you want to go with your degree and to be unsure of your career direction
Have a fuzzy vision – be flexible Decide what is most appropriate for you Explore the pathways to get there Identify how to start along the road Take small steps to get there Review how you are going
