S@C Research & Development Initiative Ultranet Focus on Teaching and Learning Transparent nature allows teachers to share ideas more easily Helps to build a a stronger sense of learning community In turn, a stronger learning community with a focus on learning and teaching leads to much more purposeful teaching. Coupled with greater transparency of the classroom this leads to higher expectations.

S@C Research & Development Initiative Ultranet Real Time Knowledge Traditionally Post time information ie: curriculum is planned, taught and assessed. Reporting takes place at the end of the semester. Value is minimal because feedback arrives after the learning has taken place The Ultranet Connects all learning activities directly to the outcomes providing real time feedback.

S@C Research & Development Initiative Ultranet Research and Evaluation The Assessment Research Centre at the University of Melbourne is undertaking the evaluation of the implementation of the Ultranet in pilot schools. The Assessment Research Centre is directed by Professor Patrick Griffin, an internationally recognised specialist in measurement, assessment, profile development and implementation, psychometrics, statistical analysis and survey design. The University of Melbourne is a leading Australian institution for research and development and ranks in the worlds top 20 universities.

S@C Research & Development Initiative Ultranet Evaluation Outcomes Assessment of the pilot implementation phase Identification of opportunities for continuous improvement Provision of advice and strategies for roll out

S@C Research & Development Initiative Ultranet BENEFITS PORTFOLIO Allow targeted intervention Strategic use of limited resources Level of fit to the Enterprise Scalable
