1 Heads Up 3 April 2013 Update for the NHS Yorkshire and Humber Regional Leadership Council

2 Welcome! 3 We will be running an event for Leadership and OD leads in Yorkshire and Humber on 21 May to create a shared understanding of the core programmes design and to plan together for recruitment, learner support, organisational benefit and feedback and evaluation. Individual invitation letters will be sent out this week. If you are interested in attending, contact john.hunter@yh.hee.nhs.ukjohn.hunter@yh.hee.nhs.uk National News Core Programmes Talent/Leadership Compact New Leadership Framework Funding A series of listening workshops has been arranged with the Academy to help co-create a new shared approach to talent management. Events have been organised for 23 May (Sheffield), 24 May (Leeds) and 29 May (York). For more information or to book a place contact sophia.khan@yh.hee.nhs.uksophia.khan@yh.hee.nhs.uk The NHS Leadership Framework has provided a highly effective shared framework for assessing and developing leadership competencies over the last decade. Now we are facing a very different set f leadership challenges, we want to build on the learning from this success to create a new framework fit for the future. We are looking for leaders at all levels and from a range of backgrounds to participate in the research discussions that will form the basis of this. If you are interested in getting involved or know someone who you think would make a contribution to this, please contact hannah.shore@yh.hee.nhs.uk no later than midday 11 April. 4 The first webinar has now been held led by three strategic OD leads in the region, sharing their OD models and approaches (thanks to Sue Holden, Steve Keyes and Sandra Knight). If you would like copies of their power point presentations, please contact hannah.shore@yh.hee.nhs.uk hannah.shore@yh.hee.nhs.uk Regional News Branding Vision and Strategy OD network Big Evaluation Event We are now in full preparation for our consultation exercise on the NHS YH Leadership 2020 Vision and Strategy. If there are networks and groups that you think would like to contribute to this, please let us know – we want this to be a system wide consultation that can inform our leadership development investment for the next 5 years. Meanwhile, we have changed organisations and are now officially the Leadership and Organisation Development partners, Health Education Yorkshire and the Humber. Our new email addresses are now name.yh.hee.nhs.uk Our new web pages should be up shortly. We are planning to hold a shared learning event on 11 June to share evaluation information and learning from both Regional and Trust leadership development programmes and interventions.
