WHY HAVE A CERN COMMUNITY -Already exists informally, need to bring together, develop -International nature of research at CERN -Capitalize on wide variety of networks – identify specific profiles, expertise, partnership opportunities -Ambassadors for CERN and for its activities -Keep in contact with current and former Personnel worldwide Key players  Current and former members of CERN personnel  Research Institutes/Universities  Companies from Member States

5. CERN AS A KNOWLEDGE HUB  Generated at CERN in the framework of its activities;  Brought into CERN by people from institutions worldwide;  Exported outside CERN through people’s mobility, training, technology transfer, procurement, etc.
