1Using PeopleSoft’s User Productivity Kit (UPK) Online Self-Help (UPK)
2Online Self-Help (UPK) Click on the "Help" link in e-Reimbursement. Hint: Turn off Popup Blockers.
3Online Self-Help (UPK) Two options: Online Self-Help (User Productivity Kit or UPK) and PeopleBooks. Click on the UPK link for help with filling out the e-Reimbursement application.
4Online Self-Help (UPK) The UPK application is divided into panes:OutlineConceptPlayback Mode
5Online Self-Help (UPK) The outline opens by default with the “Applicable” option selected.Select the “All” option to view all of the modules, sections, and topic.The UPK help topics are context sensitive to the application. UPK finds context in the area of the application you are working on.When “Applicable” is selected, only topics found within the context will become available in the outline.When “All” is selected, topics from every module become available.

8Online Self-Help (UPK) The outline is organized three ways:A module (purple book) is used to organize a specific unit of learning. It can contain other documents such as sections, topics, or even other modules to form a component of an outline.A section (blue book) is very similar to a module in that it also can contain other documents such as sections, topics, or other modules. The main difference between a section and module is its visual representation that can help you differentiate between the components of your outline and locate areas in the structure faster.A topic represents a series of recorded steps that complete a task in an application.

10Online Self-Help (UPK) Learn how to use the UPK in both a simulated environment and while working with data in a live environment.
11Online Self-Help (UPK) Simulated environment:See It! Mode enables a user to learn by watching an animated demonstration of the steps for a task being performed in a simulated environment. All of the required activities, such as moving the mouse and entering data, are completed automatically.Try It! Mode enables a user to learn interactively in a simulated environment. The user is prompted for mouse clicks and/or keystrokes to complete the task.Know It? Mode is an assessment-type playback mode in which users are instructed to complete a particular task. Users do not receive step-by-step instructions for completing a task. (This mode is not used at this time.)
12Online Self-Help (UPK) Live environment:Do It! Mode (available only when using the Internet Explorer browser) enables a user to learn interactively using live data. A user is presented with a small window on top of the live target application that displays each step for a particular task. As the user completes each step, he/she can click a button or use a hot-key combination to display the next step in the process. Within the Do It! window, a thumbnail graphic of the screen is available with a highlight indicating the area where the action should take place.This mode is recommended when help is needed while using e-Reimbursement to fill out an expense report or a travel authorization.

14Online Self-Help (UPK) To exit the UPK, press Esc on your keyboard. The UPK browser window closes.
