3. Product Numbering
All MAGNUM helical pile products begin with the extension “MH”.

4. Product Numbering
Next is either “L” for lead or “E” for extension section. Note that sometimes the L or E is dropped when referencing the entire pile.

7. Product Numbering
Bolted, bolted-reinforced, welded, and welded reinforced couplings are available. Bolted is most common.

8. Reinforced Coupling “BR”
The bolted-reinforced coupling consists of an external and an internal collar sleeve for triple wall thickness to protect bolt holes and provide higher maximum installation torque and subsequently higher capacity.

9. Product Numbering Note:
Section lengths are omitted when referencing the entire helical pile.
Practically any section length is available from 2 feet up to 40 feet. Maximum length depends on overhead restrictions and equipment capabilities. Sections are joined to reach desired depth.

Helix thickness. Note “K” is standard for MH220, MH313, MH325, and MH352.

12. Helix Thickness Determination
Magnum engineers have performed calculations, finite element modeling, and accredited lab testing to develop helix thickness standards for punching shear and weld strength.
K = 3/8”
For MH220, MH313, MH325, MH3521
M = 5/8”
For MH425, MH431
O = 7/8”
For MH530, MH536, MH625, and larger.

13. Product Numbering Note: S=Single Edge Helix (Standard)
D=Dual Edge Helix (DCE)
Size, style, and number of helical bearing plates needs to be determined based on traditional bearing capacity theory.

14. Magnum Piering, Inc. sizing charts are provided for cohesive soils, non-cohesive soils, and weak bedrock. Based on the SPT Blow Count and required ultimate capacity, they can be used to size helical bearing plates.

To finish the product number, the surface coating needs to be selected.
Most economical is NG = “Non-Galvanized”.
