PO Box 7674 Fredericksburg, VA 22404 Directions: From I-95: Take Falmouth-Warrenton Exit 133A. Follow U.S. Rt 17 (toward Falmouth) 1.25 miles to Washington St (just before flashing light). Turn right into Belmont. From US 1 South: Continue straight through the traffic light at Rt. 17 intersection, immediately bear right before Falmouth Bridge going down Cambridge Street. Turn right onto Washington Street (State Route 1001) Turn left into Belmonts second gravel drive. From US 1 North: Cross the Falmouth Bridge (stay in right lane). Turn right onto Carter Street (before light). Take first right onto Gordon Street. Turn right onto River Road, and, after passing under bridge, make first left onto Washington Street (State Route 1001). Turn left into Belmonts second gravel drive. Spring Walk

If desired, AVA/IVV is $3; Donations welcome. Trails: 5k and 10k trails are available. (Participants can complete 20k for no extra charge.) 10K course follows Stafford County and Fredericksburg sidewalks and a paved bike/walking path through Falmouth, Brooks and Pratt Parks to the National Park Service property Chatham Manor then into Fredericksburg. Feel free to tour the Chatham Grounds and Home as well as the Gari Melcher Home and Museum. 5K course goes across Route 1 bridge into Fredericksburg and along part of the Heritage Trail. 5K and 10k are Rating 1A, but NOT wheel chair and stroller accessible. Both the 5K and 10K trail have a short section along a potentially-muddy creek – shoes with good traction and walking sticks are advisable. Pets will be allowed on a leash, and there will be restrooms at Belmont, Old Falmouth Park, Brooks Park, and Pratt Park. Course starts at Belmont, Gari Melchers Home and Studio, in the Lower Parking Lot. (strollers: no for 5k/10k; wheelchairs: no for 5k/10k; pets: yes; restrooms: yes) Special Programs: Bakeries Family Owned, Civil War Battlefields, Walking America's Trails. The 5K walk is Civil War Battlefields and Walking Americas Trails. Award: This is a B award event. IVV Books and Credit: This event counts towards the acquisition of IVV Achievement awards. Distance and Event Books and New Walker Packets will be for sale at the event. Procedures: At the start of the walk, you will receive a start card; fill in your name and other requested information. Carry the card with you and fill it in as needed at the checkpoints. Each participant may only fill out one card. Turn the card in at the finish point so the sponsors can keep track of those still out on the trail. NOTE: All walkers must sign a waiver of liability before participating. Refreshments: Water and candy will be provided at no charge at the start and finish points. There are numerous restaurants in Fredericksburg. Eligibility: Everyone is welcome, regardless of age, sex, creed, race or nationality. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Pets must be kept on a leash at all times. Disclaimer: The American Volkssport Association or its subsidiary clubs are not responsible for theft or loss of personal belongings or property. All participants must sign a waiver. The sponsors and supporting activities or individuals are not liable for accident, theft, and/or material damage.
