2 Why GOLD? GOLD targets members who have recently entered the workforce Programs are geared to highlight needs typical to this affinity group Assist young members in their transition between academic and professional life Increase retention of recent graduates and their participation in IEEE

8 GOLD Activities What Should our Program Do? Hold at least 2 non-technical programs/year Work with PACE, Educational Activities, Student Branches and other Chairs to coordinate programs Have Fun! Who Should Attend our Programs? Everyone! Although GOLD is tailored toward the recent graduate, but dont check IDs!

9 GOLD Mentoring Section Mentors/Industry Liaisons Act as Advisor to a GOLD Member or Committee Encourage a GOLD co-worker to get Involved Provide opportunities for Networking and Education

10 Summary GOLD is young and growing GOLD-oriented programs add value by attracting another group of volunteers to participate GOLD programs can be the training ground for the next generation of IEEE leaders
