Mashifane Community Township Development News Update – August 2006 Pre Phase : 5 year spent so far in acquiring community land Documentation and Legal Requirements are completed Total Land Available is 1500 Hectares Land Use Plan Completed Town Master Plan – Phase 1 Completed Financing of Rand 100 Million in Progress.

Mashifane Community Township Development Phase 1 Land acquired is 300 Hectares The cooperation of communities, business organizations, governments, and various stakeholders will play a very important role in the planning of the Integrated Community-Based Master Plan for this township. It is critical to create an environment where different interest groups and stakeholders fully join in the planning process of the Integrated Community-Based Master Plan. Good leadership, open communication and active public - private partnership are essential for the success of this project undertaking. The planning and development of Township in Greater Tubatse Proposal is only the beginning of a new comprehensive integrated community development plan for the Greater Tubatse communities. The force of political and citizen commitment behind it and the tenacity of the implementation program can only prove the effectiveness of the proposed project proposal.

Mashifane Community Township Development The key to undertaking this project proposal is identifying the factors that will influence the township: 1.Industries to be located to the area 2.Business to be developed in the region 3.Commercial establishments to cater to the various requirements of the people in the region 4.Infrastructure development such as roads, communication, water, electricity, sanitation, waste management, education and cultural development in the township 5.Residential Area for a community of 500,000 township citizens 6.Agricultural requirements in the region 7.CBD area for the business of Government Administration The main objective is to meet the demand for job creation, housing, infrastructure, and cultural empowerment opportunities for Limpopo communities.
Mashifane Community Township Development This town will bring in a project outlay of around Rand 4 billion and will create at least 42,000 Jobs. This 1st phase period development will last for 2 years. Multiplier Effect: 1. Job creation multiplier 2. Land use multiplier 3. Economic Development Multiplier 4. DBSA assistance to create micro credit references. The complete planning of the rural community which will foster a community oriented master plan thats supports private companies and creates jobs in various sections as indicated in the attached synopsis.

That will support a community of 300,000 to 500,000 people The jobs will contribute to about 100,000 homes in the area. Depending on Phase 1 achievements and successes.
