What the project is about? The project combines: 1. Science: Make a toy car and make the design. 2. Math: Time how long it takes for the car to reach the slope and measure how far the car goes, then put the information into a table and graph 3. English: Write a lucid report with sub- headings about what we have done for Math and Science.

Rafa is the one that drew and came up with the design for the toy car. Farrel and Rafa decided that the car would be the color blue.

Our toy car only has 3 materials which are: 1. Plastic (Plastic Bottle) 2. Tape (To tape the things together) 3. Wheels (From Lego)

We attached the wheels to the plastic bottle with tape, and painted the whole bottle and the lid blue. Our problem was that the wheels of the car kept falling off so we had to tape it back.

What do you think will happen? We think the car will do okay and go very fast on the slope because it is light.

In the experiment, the car went well but sometimes it falls off the slope or swerves to the opposite direction. On wood: The car traveled 1m on a 30 degree angle. The time traveled is 2.46 seconds. On tile: The car traveled 10cm on a 30 degree angle. The time traveled is 1.10 seconds. On Tarmac: The car traveled 2.35m on a 30 degree angle. The time traveled is 4.9 seconds. On Grass: The car traveled 46cm on a 30 degree angle. The time traveled is 1.94 seconds.

On a 15 degree angle: The car traveled 0.0 cm. The time traveled is 8.7 seconds. On a 30 degree angle: The car traveled 10cm. The time traveled is 1.10 seconds. On a 45 degree angle: The car traveled 1m. The time traveled is 1.15 seconds.

At the end we learned that the car moves down the slope because of Potential Energy. It uses Potential Energy because when the car is placed on the top of the slope, it has Potential Energy because of its position on top of the slope. As the car goes down the slope, it has less potential energy. Friction causes the car to stop moving.

Rafa was testing the car. Farrel, Rafa and Erica were experimenting with the car on the grass Erica was building the car
