Learning Mobility of Individuals 2. Co-operation for Innovation and Good Practices 3. Support for Policy Reform Next steps The European Commission, the European Parliament and the European Council have agreed the new Erasmus+ programme, although it still needs to be ratified and formally approved. This is expected to happen in October 2013, with formal adoption to follow in November as stated above. The current funding programmes, including the LLP, were given approval to run from 2007 to 2013 under the current European Union budgetary period. As this budgetary period comes to an end, plans for spending in the new budget period from 2014 – 2020 need to be agreed by the European Parliament and the Member State governments. These separate negotiations will determine the overall budget for Erasmus+. Additional information for Higher Education Institutions All Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) must be awarded the new Erasmus Charter for Higher Education (ECHE) to be eligible for funding in the new programme. Please see www.britishcouncil.org/erasmus-charter.htm for more information. The deadline for applications for 2014/15 has now passed; institutions will be able to apply for future participation in the next Call. Please contact the British Council with any queries regarding the ECHE. Please also note that this requirement applies to HEIs only and that awards are for the ECHE only, not for programme funding. How can I find out more? We will be regularly updating our website www.lifelonglearningprogramme.org.uk with information about Erasmus+ including factsheets and FAQs. You can also find out more on Ecorys blog at http://llpUKecorys.com, and by following Ecorys and the British Council on twitter. Erasmus+ will fund three Key Actions: 1.
