3 Think Like a Contractor Develop plan for contractor Include detail sheets and notes for ESC controls Include instructions on installation and maintenance Educate

4 Communicate Clearly Hold preconstruction conference Provide regular on-site supervision and inspection Meet to discuss problems and modify plans Provide mailbox for inspection reports or fax number where reports can be sent Provide telephone numbers for key developer and contractor personnel

5 Limit Chances for Erosion to Occur Minimize the amount of earth disturbed Direct runoff away from exposed soil surfaces Control water that falls onto the site Include staging

6 Other Pointers Cooperate with Mother Nature Include pay items for ESC work in your specs Provide money for maintenance Expect to change your plan
