3. Hull House. US History. 2007- 2008 3 Hull House Born September 6 th, 1860 into a wealthy family, Addams was one of a small number of women in her generation to graduate from college.

Most significantly, she spearheaded a movement in Chicago to improve the lives of poor, immigrant workers. On September 8 th, 1889, she founded Hull House in the middle of the citys worst neighborhood.
