2 BELLRINGER QUESTIONS (5 MINUTES)
1. One goal for a lasting peace that President Woodrow Wilson included in his Fourteen Points was: Establishing a League of Nations Maintaining a permanent military force in Europe Returning the United States to a policy of isolationism Blaming Germany for causing World War I 2. Why did the United States participate in the Washington Conference (1921) and the Kellogg-Briand Pact (1928)? To reduce barriers to international trade To work with other nations to prevent future wars To form military alliances as a defense against aggression To expand American influence over Asia and Latin America`

3 Bellringer continued 3. What did the Washington Naval Conference, the Nine-Power Treaty, and the Kellogg-Briand Pact have in common? They were attempts at promoting world peace without the League of Nations They created secret alliances between the former Allied and Central Powers. They were a series of naval disarmament treaties involving the Allied Powers of World war I. They were disarmament treaties that limited the number of tanks, use of poison gas, and airplanes.
