1 (A) The king cobra (Ophiophagus hannah) is the world’s longest venomous snake and can measure up to 5.5 m. When undisturbed, they have cylindrical bodies that taper slightly at the head. However, when confronted or agitated, they rear up and display the typical cobra “hood.” (B) West African Green Mamba (Dendroaspis viridis). The Green Mamba is an arboreal (tree climbing) snake in the Elapidae family that possesses potent neurotoxins that easily kill the birds and lizards which it preys on.
