We check sight words on Friday. Students should know 70 out of 100 sight words by the end of the year.
We are off to a great start! We’ve had two successful days and worked hard learning classroom routines. This week we’ll begin testing students on letter and sound recognition.

The cost of ice cream is $ Ice cream can be paid for the entire year for a cost of $36. There will be no refunds for students who may be absent on ice cream day. We will have ice cream on Thursdays.
If your child needs to eat breakfast at school each day please let me know.
Homework
Daily: Have someone read to you for 20 minutes. Practice sight words and student ID number.

Language Arts- identifying parts of a sentence
Math- 2D shapes (circle, square, triangle, rectangle, hexagon)
Reading- identifying the parts of a book (front cover, back cover, spine, & title page)
Please send lunch money and all other monies in your child’s money pouch inside the notebook and designate what the money is for.
Ice Cream: Thursday $1.00
We will have snack each day. Please remember to send a small snack and juice each day. No carbonated drinks are allowed at school. Write your child’s name on the snack and keep it separate from his/her lunch box. If a spoon or fork is needed, send that also. We don’t provide spoons for pudding, applesauce, etc.
Your child’s student ID number is ___________. Please have them practice memorizing this number.
