Hey there from the beehive! This week has been awesome and I can’t BEE-lieve that our third week of school is over!! We have been very busy this week and are looking forward to a short week next week. (Labor Day, no school Monday!) Don’t forget tomorrow is swimming for triathlon training, so see Additional Info for what you need to keep in mind! Due dates for assignments are coming up quickly, so make sure to pay attention to those and record them on your home calendar!  Book Adventure update memos will be sent home next week so that you know how many more your child needs before September 14th!

Additional Information
-The third “homework packet” is coming home today. Each Thursday you will receive a packet of information as well as homework in your child’s weekly folder.
-The Olympics assignment is also going home today so make sure to read all of it, and if you have questions about it, feel free to me!
-Book Report Info will be going home September 8th! Sneak peek….Community Helpers ;)
-For swimming tomorrow, make sure your child is wearing their bathing suit and a t-shirt over it! Also, make sure to send a snack and water bottle. They will not need backpacks so if you want to keep those at home, that’s fine! Those who are driving will need to be heading to the Y at 11:30 so to be back in time for dismissal!

2. What’s the Buzz In Second Grade? September 1st, 2016 Homework:
Reminders:
-Please send your child’s folder to school every day with the behavior chart signed, including Fridays. Homework checklist should be signed as well and turned in the following week. Items to put in folder: notes for Mrs. B, permission slips, money due, library books that need to be returned to the library or Mrs. B’s library, and of course homework.
-If your child has a book out from Mrs. B, they can have them out for two weeks. After two weeks, Mrs. B will come buzzin’ for them! 
-Library was on Tuesday, with our wonderful librarian, Netta! Make sure you’re staying on top of your BA points!

Don’t forget to have your child review Phonics Charts and read for 15 minutes every day!
Save the cursive chart, Book Adventure password and phonics charts all year for when your student is working on HW!
