2 Two students, John and Steve, got into a fight on the second floor
Two students, John and Steve, got into a fight on the second floor. In the fight, John got a black eye and Steve got a bloody nose. They were both brought down to the dean’s office where they were told by him that they must shake hands and forgive each other. *Did the dean do a good job handling the situation? *Was he being realistic? *How is this situation similar to what is going on in the world in 1918?

9 Treaty of Versailles Diplomats from more than 30 nations met Versailles to negotiate five separate peace treaties Key issues were decided by Allied nations The Big Four: Woodrow Wilson (U.S.), David Lloyd George (Britain), Georges Clemenceau (France), Vittorio Orlando (Italy) England, France, Italy wanted to punish the Germans

10 Treaty of Versailles All of Germany’s colonies and lands they took before WWI were taken away and divided among Great Britain and France. Germany was not allowed to have submarines or military airplanes. They can only have very small army. Germany had to tell the world that they started the war (take the blame) and they had to pay for the entire war (33 billion dollars in reparations) Establish a League of Nations Protect the independence of all countries-large or small

League of Nations- President Woodrow Wilson created the League to prevent future wars by allowing nations to talk over their problems.
