2. Where to find PowerPoint on the computer.
Go to the Start button.
Click and choose to Programs.
Click on PowerPoint.

3. Making a slide.
The first slide will usually be a Title Slide. Click in the first box and type a title for the presentation.
Click in the second box and type name and date.

4. SAVE Remember to save often !!
To save, click on the File menu in the top left hand corner, go to “Save,” and click.
When this dialog box appears, find “Save in” and click on the arrow to find the folder where the file is to be saved. Next, type a name for the file and click the Save button.

5. To Create a Second Slide
While still on title page, click the Insert menu and then click on New Slide.
You may use the Slide Layout provided or choose a different one Click on the Format menu, then choose “Slide Layout” to pick a new one Click in each box to type.

6. To add clipart or pictures
Repeat the previous step as needed for each additional slide.
To add clipart or pictures
Go to the Insert menu, select “Picture,” then “Clip Art,” then choose the desired picture. Double-click on the picture to insert.

7. Add a Background Background Color
Go to Format menu> Choose “Background” > Click down arrow > Click “More colors” > Click desired color > click OK

8. Add a Background Background Texture
Go to Format menu > Choose “Background” > Click down arrow > Click “Fill Effects” > Click “Texture” tab > Click desired texture > Click OK

10. Change the Font
Click on the text box > Highlight text to be changed (Put curser on first letter of the word, hold down the left mouse key and drag to the end of the word or sentence, release mouse key) > Click on Format menu > Choose “Font” > Select a new font, style, size, color or effect > Click OK
As a general rule, it is best to stick to two or three fonts consistently throughout a presentation.

11. SOUND
To add Sound
Go to the Insert menu > Choose “Movies or Sound” > Select the desired sound and double-click to Insert

12. Slide Transitions
Click on the Slide Show menu > Choose slide transition > Click on the preferred transition. Set the speed to medium or slow. (Repeat this step for each slide.)

13. Animation
To set the various movements for text and pictures on each slide:
Go to the Slide Show menu
Choose “Animation Schemes”
Choose an animation for each slide
This will apply the same animation for all objects on the slide.

15. Viewing your Slide Show
Go to the Slide Show menu > Choose “View.”
OR Go to the bottom left hand corner of the window. Find and click the “View” button.
