1 Palace of Westminster By Rosie Harris

2 Houses of Parliament The Palace of Westminster is the meeting place of the House of Commons and the House of Lords. Together they are known as the Houses of Parliament in Britain. The Palace lies on the north bank of the River Thames in central London.

4 1099- Westminster Hall William II orders to build Westminster hall which is finished in 1099, this is the entrance hall still standing today! When the roof was being repaired in the hall, an ancient tennis ball used by Henry VIII was found stuck in the roof!

5 House of Commons The House of Commons is where the 650 members of parliament discuss any interests or concerns, new laws are also discussed in the House of Commons.

6 House Of Lords The House of Lords takes part in the task of making new laws by checking and challenging the work of the government . After this, the law goes to the Queen to be signed and become an actual law.

7 LONDON! By Rosie Harris

8 Capital of England London is the capital of England and also the largest city in it. The Queen has her palace in London . The PM works in London.

9 Landmarks London is home to some of the best landmarks in Britain.

10 Tower Bridge Fact: Tower Bridge is within walking distance from where my family’s flat is located in London (Rotherhithe).

11 River Thames The River Thames begins in the Cotswolds, less than a mile from the county of Gloucestershire, it then goes 216 miles through London.

12 Big Ben Big Ben is part of the Palace of Westminster, every hour the Big Ben bell chimes. The sound of the bell vibrates through me when it chimes!

13 10 Downing Street 10 Downing Street, is where the PM ( Teresa May) lives and works.

14 The London Eye The London Eye is a colossal wheel in London. You can take rides on the London Eye - it is really fun to do so - you can see the whole of London from the top.

15 Buckingham Palace If you didn't know already, Buckingham Palace is the Queen’s (or monarch’s) main home. You can take a tour around Buckingham Palace and you find out a lot about it.
