2 Introduction It is the capital city of England and the United Kingdom. It is located on the River Thames, in the south-east of Britain. In the city more than 300 languages are spoken, and it has a large population. London is characterized, among other things, for its public transport.

3 Big Ben Big Ben is the nickname for the great bell tower situated in the north end of the Palace of Westminster. It was built by Charles Barry, and it measures 96'3 meters. It has a gothic style because the British Empire wanted to stand out from other nations. The clock was the largest in the world when it was built, and it is very precise

4 Buckingham Palace Buckingham Palace is the principal residence and office of the British monarchy. The construction began in 1703 and it was completed in 1826. The palace is used for ceremonies and state visits, sightseeing and as a residence of Queen Elizabeth II.

5 London Eye The London Eye, also known as Millennium Wheel, was the largest ferris wheel in the world until May 2006. It is 135 m tall. It is next to Country Hall and in front of the Ministry of Defence offices.
