3 Procedures Attendance Birthdays
Attendance is taken daily at 9:10. If your child arrives after that, a late pass must be obtained at the office when he or she is signed in. Excuse notes are required for tardiness as well as absences. Birthdays No Food Policy 21 Students in Class Decorate desk/ special chair/ sing/ class helper. Notes Place in blue Maureen M. Welch Folder. or a phone call works best. Absent Notes can be sent in an and sent to Amy Shimborski (office) Vacation Work will be completed upon your return. If requested, a journal will be sent with the student. They will share their adventure when they return.

4 Procedures Mystery Reader Snack/ Lunch
- Pack “ONE” healthy snack each day and two drinks. - Sept. Menu came home! - Buying Lunch- ID CODES Mystery Reader The Mystery Reader sign up is on my Sign Up Genius. Will be ed to you later tonight! What to bring: 2 picture books 3 Clues about yourself * Highly Encouraged : ) Star of the Week Starting the 25th there will be a Student Star each week. You will get a detailed letter and a small poster to decorate a few days prior. The routine is: Monday- Poster Share Tuesday- Pictures Wednesday- Favorite Book Thursday- Show & Tell Friday- Fame Day Dismissal Notes for Changes Must call office if change is after 12:00 Bus Passes required for different bus.

5 Procedures Test’s Please sign and return all Math and Spelling tests.
No need to sign and return Spelling Pre-tests.

6 Report Cards Do not get them the first marking period.
Can be accessed through HAC. Printed copy with be sent home at the end of the year. 4. Happy to set up a conference to discuss report cards. 5. Report Card Brochure on MMW Website

Tear out assigned pages to return back to school Students will write their assignments in homework book. Please initial HW Book every night. Nightly Reading is encouraged! **Math Reteaching Packets – Optional ** Please read every night. HOMEWORK IS NEVER WORTH TEARS!

Curriculum- Writing Domains of Writing 1. Focus 2. Content 3. Organization 4. Style 5. Conventions (grammar, sentence structure, punctuation and spelling) Goal: Take risks as writers and begin to write fluently. Handwriting Focus on: - appropriate letter formation (top to bottom) - spacing between words - appropriate letter sizes (attic, living room and basement) - correct use of uppercase and lowercase letters. At home, you can reinforce correct spelling in writing. Help your child to stretch words and hear as many sounds as possible.

Save Around Coupon books (leave books on desk if not interested) - If you want to purchase them, you can take them home - The cost is $25. The envelopes go in the blue PTO box in the office or can get turned into the teacher. Please update their information in MySchool Anywhere. Four Classroom Parties Halloween, Winter Holiday, Valentine's Day and End of the Year Party Food will be provided for parties by PTO Need Two Additional Parent Volunteers for each party! Sign Up Genius – sent out 2 weeks prior to party for 2 volunteer sign ups. Different parents sign up each time You will need your clearances sent to CR Offices!
