5. Infinitif If there is an infinitive, y goes directly before the infinitive verb. -Est-ce que tu veux aller à lécole? -Do you want to go to school? -Non. Je ne veux pas y aller. -No. I dont want to go there.

6. Passé Composé When using y with past tense, y goes before the helping verb (avoir or être). -Est-ce que tu es allé(e) au café? -Did you go to the café? -Oui. Jy suis allé(e) -Yes. I went there.
