4 Military Service Components Army Reserve - Primarily support jobs (120+ available jobs) - Federal Force - Transferability (not obligated to a state) - Majority Part-time: Two days a month and Annual Training (2-4 weeks) - Jobs that no other component has (Firefighter, Civil Affairs, Psychological Operations, Certain Engineering and Transportation) Active Duty - 150+ available jobs (warfighting and support) - Federal Force - Full-Time job - Stationed throughout the world National Guard -150+ available jobs (warfighting and support) - State Force; can be activated for State and National purposes - Benefits tied to State - Majority Part-time: Two days a month and Annual Training (2-4 weeks) Enlistment Eligibility, Process, and Service Options

10 Military Entrance Processing Station (MEPS) The United States Military Entrance Processing Command (USMEPCOM) is a joint service command that screens and processes applicants into the United States Armed Forces. USMEPCOM is headquartered in North Chicago, Illinois and operates 65 MEPS throughout the U.S. MEPS stations conduct the following screening to ensure applicants meet the standards to serve in the Armed Forces: -Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) and Verification of Education Credentials -Medical: vision, hearing, blood, blood pressure, urinalysis, Breathalyzer, etc… -Moral/Background examination Enlistment Eligibility, Process, and Service Options
