1. My Introduction Kayla Reynolds

2. My Life My name is Kayla Reynolds. I live in Georgia with my husband and two kids, ages 8 and 1. We love to watch movies, and go to the mountains. My daughter loves to create projects and paint things. My son loves to climb. My husband and I love to be with our children, that is our hobby. They definitely keep us busy.

3. Behavioral Therapist I have been a behavioral therapist for autistic children for over 10 years. I have worked along side occupational therapist, physical therapist, speech therapist, BCBAs, and hippo therapist. I have worked in clinics and mostly at peoples homes as a travel therapist. I absolutely love my job and am excited to move forward in this profession. I am completing my Masters Degree in a step to my eventual goal of being a BCBA. (Board Certified Behavioral Analyst)

4. BCBA My goal with this Masters Degree is to complete it, an ABA (applied behavioral analysis) certificate and sit for the board testing for GA. This will give me the title of Board Certified Behavioral Analysis (BCBA) which will allow me to supervise cases and write programs for the therapist to follow through with on a weekly basis.

5. My background I grew up in public school with a mom that was a pra pro turned teacher after we were older. I had some amazing, caring teachers where I grew up. And not only about my grades. I think public school was a good experience for my sister and I. My high school years made the biggest impact on me. Before high school it was all about softball for me but after I messed up my knee and was forced to find new hobbies it directed me in a life path of helping others. Joining the FCCLA, work program, and volunteering with special needs was the start of what I knew my life was destined for.

6. Public vs. Private My childhood best friend was home schooled. I know others that were home schooled. Am I any different? No. It was a good choice for my sister and I but I realize it is not for everyone. My daughter is currently in public school and it is VERY different than it used to be, we question everyday if we should home school her. The biggest thing I have learned so far in life about school through my work and life experiences is every child is different and you shouldn't try to change them. You should build up their successes.
