I am moving to Austin from the Dallas area where I taught 4th Grade in Allen ISD. Some of my hobbies include running, cooking, and playing the piano. I love teaching 4th grade, and I am looking forward to a fun and educational year together! Miss Colleen Hite Originally from Michigan, this is my first year living in the Austin area, and I cannot wait to experience the excitement of the Lone Star State! I feel so fortunate that I have the opportunity to teach at Serene Hills Elementary for the 2010-2011 school year. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from Michigan State University with a major in Elementary Education. I completed a year long internship in the 4th grade and recently finished a long-term position in a 4th grade classroom. I have taught 2nd grade summer school and have worked in Kindergarten through 5th grade classrooms. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, dancing, and spending time outdoors. I come from a family of teachers (mother, sister, and grandmother) and strongly believe that education is the ticket to success. So grab your boarding passes, Mariners! You are in for a wonderful adventure in the 4th grade! Miss Elizabeth Hawley
Ahoy Mates and Welcome Aboard! I am thrilled at the opportunity to become a member of the Serene Hills family as well as your teacher! In 2004 I obtained my Bachelors of Science in Political Science from Texas State University. While at Texas State, I fell in love with Austin and the Texas Hill Country. I knew it would not be long after graduation that I would return. After graduation I went home to Friendswood, where I worked for my fathers transportation company, Sierra Trailways of Texas. Although my life was fulfilling, something was missing. One day while volunteering with a local childrens group it hit me, my calling in life is to share my love for learning and instill the importance of becoming a lifelong learner in our youth. Coming from a family of educators, teaching comes very naturally to me. My mother, a former secondary teacher, holds her LPC as well as her Assistant Principal Certification. My family is very supportive of my career choice and constantly encouraging me. This year is a very special year for my family; my little brother is getting married in December. We are very excited to welcome another member into the Conner Crew! Working together we will make each day a memorable day in which we do arrrrrrrr best! I look forward to meeting You and your families at Meet the Teacher night on August 19, 2010. A big <3 because youre so smart! Miss Conner Service. Honor. Excellence. I am so excited to be a part of the Serene Hills Elementary School family! I was born and raised in Austin, TX, and I grew up going to school in Round Rock ISD.
