3. INTRODUCTION My name is Rachel Duke. I am 24 years old and my birthday is October 13, 1989. I am from Paulding County Georgia. I attend Shorter College, and the University of West Georgia. I am not married nor do I have any children of my own. I have two little brothers who I adore, I also have two dogs. I love animals and my favorite color is pink. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and watching football. This is my first year teaching and I am very excited about this year!

6. CREDENTIALS I have my Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of West Georgia. I am currently pursuing my Master’s degree in counseling from the University of West Georgia.

7. MY FEELINGS ABOUT STUDENTS, PARENTS AND TEACHING I have a true passion for helping children. I think that kids are so full of potential and I only hope to be as impactful on them as I know they will be on me. I have always loved kids and I could not think of another profession I would rather have. I am very committed to all of my students learning. I will work extremely hard to make sure all of my students are successful and learn as much as they can while in my classroom. I believe that parent involvement is a crucial part of student learning. I am committed to working with parents and having parents as a part of the classroom.

8. GETTING IN CONTACT This year we will have two conferences. If you would like to set up a face -to -face meeting besides the two we have scheduled then you may do so by emailing me, calling me after 9am and before 5pm, or you can write me a letter. I will be giving everyone my email, my school phone number and my cell phone number. The students will also have agendas they take home each day so you can write me in there if you would like.

9. LETS GET STARTED!!! The next steps for my class are going to be getting the school supplies requested, getting a good night sleep and a eating a good breakfast. I am so excited about getting started. I will see you all on the first day of school. I know we are going to have an awesome year!!! Thank you all!
