Introduction Hi class, It is very nice to meet all of you and I look forward to our next six weeks together. To begin, the first slide is a picture of me and My Husband and me. I am the one on the right. That was actually our very first trip to Hawaii! It was so much fun! We definitely plan on going back.

About Me To begin, I am Sharde, (Shar-day) and I currently live in Las Vegas Nevada. I have been here for quite a long time now but hey I cannot complain. I am the youngest of 7 and that includes 4 brothers 2 sisters and myself. We moved from Englewood New Jersey to Vegas in 1994 and have been here ever since. I actually just got married April 10 th of this year. I currently have 2 dogs and a cat. Simba, Rocket, and Cesar. On the next slide will be photos of the kids. (I have no photos of Cesar as he does not like cameras)

The Kids

Professional Background I currently work for the foodservice industry at Acosta Foodservice. We are the broker for manufactures and distributors. My position there is handling all the billing matters for all of the clients. I have been there almost 2 years and I love it. I am attending school right now to become a successful teacher. I really would love to become a professor, once I finish my MAED I can move on down the line.

Interests/Hobbies I love football! I am a huge Steelers fan. Probably one of the most faithful ones known to mankind. I also enjoy reading mystery novels. James Patterson is my favorite. Some other interests include writing, watching Lifetime, cooking, baking, and learning.

Schooling Growing up I always attended public school. Elementary was one of the most exciting times of my life! Junior High was also public, and I went to a magnet program for High school. This was a school specifically for career advancement. I attended the Teacher Education Academy. There I really learned what I wanted to do- which was teach. I had 3 years experience teaching regular education and 1 year teaching special education. Special education is what I want to stick with. Those children deserve to learn just as much as anyone else. One key experience was the looks on their faces when they understood the concepts being taught. When you know you have made a difference- there is no greater feeling! That is something I will never ever forget.

MAED? Yes please!! Having a MAED will make such a big difference. Just knowing I am a step closer to reaching my goal is an amazing feeling. Having a MAED will allow me so much more opportunities and more room to grow! With this degree I am sure I can accomplish just about anything.

Words of Encouragement “ The only person who is educated is the one who has learned how to learn and change. -Carl Rogers
