2.  I used to be a 7 th grader long ago- my favorite class was Art  I grew up in Iowa  I have a younger brother and sister  I went to college at The University of Northern Iowa  This is my 4 th year teaching  I taught 6 th grade Science in San Antonio for 2 years  I taught 6 th grade Science in Austin for 1 year  I taught 7 th grade science here at CeVMS last year

3.  I love to have fun  I love learning  I love teaching  I love most of my students  I am FAIR  I will follow through when I give you a consequence  I will follow though when I make a promise  I am strict, but not mean  Science is really exciting to me  I know what it’s like to not understand things so I will always do my best to explain things so you can understand  I know what it’s like to be bored so I will do my best to keep class engaging  I always want to help you in anyway that I can

4.  … I mess up and do the wrong thing, does that ever happen to you?  If you ever think I did something wrong or treated you unfairly PLEASE… Write me a note Speak to me in private Always say something- don’t just let it go  If I think you do something wrong I will do the same for you  … I have bad days, does that ever happen to you?  If I’m having a bad day I will let you know  If you’re having a bad day, just let me know before class starts

5.  I love my three dogs  I love to travel, I’ve been all over the US and Western Europe  I love to swim and exercise  I love to read and learn  I love animals

6.  I learn best by looking a pictures and reading directions. If someone tells me something it’s hard for me to remember sometimes.  I believe we are all life long learners. I will learn from you and you will learn from me. I learn a lot from other teachers and the principal. We will continue to learn new things our entire life. There’s a lot out there to learn.  This summer I learned new ways to make my class fun and exciting.  This year I’m going to try to learn how each of you learns best.  I’m also going to take classes after school to learn how to speak Spanish.  My goal in the future is to work more with teachers on how students learn best.

7.  You will begin a project about yourself to share with the class. You do not have to verbally share but I will post your work in the classroom  You get to choose how you want to tell the class about yourself and things you love. I also want to know how you FEEL about LEARNING.  Draw pictures of things about your life  Take pictures or get pictures from your parents  Cut out pictures from magazines  Print out pictures from the computer
