1. ALTERNATIVE / INDIE ROCK MAGAZINE Indie rock is a sub-genre of alternative rock that originated in the united kingdom and the united states in the 1980’s. Typically the artists featured in the main images for example on the cover and contents page, usually wear quite laid back, casual clothing. The lead singer is usually positioned nearer the front of the image, or in the middle of the other band members. That is so that the attention is brought mainly onto them. Their facial expressions tend to be quite minimal and they often look quite stern and serious. You rarely see them smiling as the genre of music is thought to be quite mellow. Some particular magazines of this music genre are ones such as NME and Q magazine. They both feature musicians indie genre of music. These include artists such as Jake Bugg or The foals. This genre of music is the one that I listen to the most and feel therefore, that it would be the genre of magazine I would be most able to create as I understand the target market.

4. all titles are in bold font and colour and also written in capital letters to make it stand it all covers feature one main image of the artist or artists looking directly at the camera name of artists in big clear font so easily readable and audience can see who is mainly featured in the magazine all the backgrounds are plain and the colour is quite subdued and not garish or attention grabbing mention of other artists included in the magazine are featured on the front page mention of a new artist or any major news from the alternative music scene
