1 “All About” Interactive Student Notebook 2014-2015

2 What is an Interactive notebook? A way to organize classroom activities and note A self –portfolio of everything you learned this year A study aid

3 Interactive notebook ●Your notebook is your "baby." ●It will have everything that you need to know for the MSL in it. ●It's a great study tool for social studies tests and quizzes! ●You will have quarterly notebook checks...Keep it neat!

4 Notebook Checks! Every quarter there will be a notebook check You will be judged by your neatness, and how well the notebook is put together. This counts as a project, which is 65% of your quarter grade.

5 Interactive Notebook: Cover pages You will do a cover page for every unit. This will be a homework grade. Your cover page MUST: ● Have the name. ● Number of the unit that you are starting ● At least one picture representing the unit

6 Interactive Notebooks: Vocabulary Foldable Your vocabulary page goes on the back of your cover page and will have all the vocabulary words you will need to know for the unit. You will have to highlight important words and draw pics that represent each word.

7 Interactive Notebook: Cornell Notes Notes always have dates on them. The question or word goes on the left and the answer or definition will goes the right Notes are good study tools as well.

8 Interactive Notebook: (Study guide) Group Competition Group competitions are very frequent, and extremely exciting! You would work with your group to finish the worksheet and bring it up to your teacher to be checked. The prizes are either: candy, iPad passes, homework passes, or 10 point tickets.

9 Interactive Notebook: Study Guide The study guide is a study tool that you will receive a day before the test. Study guides must be signed by the person who you studied with.

10 How is it organized? ●The ISN is divided into units for Social Studies. ●Your teacher will tell you the unit name and number. ●All of the work for that unit is glued behind the unit cover page.
