Dividing Monomials by Monomials

Think Back to September What is the exponent rule for dividing same bases? When dividing same bases subtract exponents Example:

Dividing Monomials To divide monomials by monomials, it is a 2 Step process. 2 Steps: 1) Divide the numbers (coefficients) 2) Divide the letters (variables)

Example 1 Example 1:  Rewrite the question  Divide the numbers and the same bases  Simplify to get answer

Example 2 Example 2:  Divide the numbers and the same bases  Simplify to get answer

Example 3 – The last one…I promise! Example 3:  Remember, what is the exponent rule for negative exponents?  Rewrite as a fraction and change the exponents to a positive x 0 = 1
