4 Madrid Barajas International Airport MAD is located in the district of Barajas, 9 km northeast of the financial center of Spain’s capital city Madrid, situated directly in the center of Spain, and is the country's busiest airport. As a result of recent upgrades to road links to each of the four passenger terminals, and access from all terminals to the Madrid Metro, getting to and from the city is quick and easy. The Airport is accessible from major motorways A1--exit 17 to M12, or A2--exit 12 to M14. It handles the majority of the country’s transatlantic flights to the Americas, and is a hub to worldwide connections. With four long runways and more than 48.4 million passengers a year, Madrid Barajas International is primary hub for Iberia and is served by a host of domestic and international, regular & low-fare airlines, offering direct and connecting flights to all points of the globe. Madrid Barajas International Airport has four passenger terminals, T1, T2, T3, adjacent to each other have each three levels: level 0 is the Arrivals level, level 1 is the Departure level with access to gates A1 to E89, and level 2 houses offices and some services, and the separate large new Terminal 4, consisting of T4 & satellite T4S (over 2 km apart). Free Suttle buses take you from terminal to terminal - between 6:30am & 11:30pm every 5 minutes; between 11:30pm & 1:50am - every 20 minutes; between 1:50am & 6:30am every 40 minutes. Buses stop at level 1 of T1, T2 & T4, and on the ground level of T4 & T2. Barajas Airport offers all the amenities of a great airport: extensive dining, shopping, banking, currency exchanges, business and personal services in all of its four terminals. Persons with disabilities, as well as families with special needs find easy access and facilities at the Airport: Terminal 1 of Barajas Airport serves passengers of inter-continental and some European flights. Terminal 2 of Barajas Airport serves passengers of mostly European flights, with some intercontinental flights. Terminal 3 of Barajas Airport is serves passengers on flights between Madrid & Barcelona. Terminal 4 of Barajas Airport serves passengers of Iberia Airlines, its franchise Air Nostrum and to all OneWorld partner airlines. T4 comprises three large modules on five levels. Module 1 is for check-in; module 2 is for security control and module 3 is for domestic and Schengen country departure flights. T4 is presently home to The Satellite Building,T4S, located between the runways, is intended for international departure and arrivals, and has over 26 aircraft stands with air-bridge access. T4 and T4S are over 2 km apart and are connected via an automated driverless train system which makes its round every two minutes at peak hours, with 30-second stops at each station. Meeting Rooms at Barajas Airport: (tel. 913 936 797; fax 489): Auditorio at T2, P2 (level 2); Autogiro at T2, P0; Goya at T2, P0; Manzanares at T2, P2 & Navacerrada at T1, P2. Parking options at Barajas Airport: Among the carparks available, each of the Terminals T1, T2/3 & T4 have corresponding carparks P1, P2 & P4. In addition, there is a short- stay carpark next to T2, a VIP carpark for T1, T2 & T3, and T4: The P1 parking lot is in front of T1. Express’ parking for a limited time is in front of arrivals at T2. P2 is a multi-level carpark, divided into modules A-D with a ring road - level 1 has direct access to T2 & T3. The Long-term parking at Ave. de Logrono, off-airport grounds; VIP carparks (tel. 913 937 337) are located inside of T1, T2 & T3 and T4 (T4 also has services for car-wash, oil change, or car repair); cars are returned and collected at the meeting points. parking lot To get from the Airport to your destination you can rent a car, take a taxi, the Metro train, or a bus: 1. The Madrid Metro line connects the Airport with the ‘Nuevos Ministerios, Madrid’s city center and financial district. Line 8 has its station under Terminal 2 (accessible from T1 & T3) and Terminal 4. Trains depart every 5 mins, 6am-2am., and taking 12 minutes, at 2 EU. (a 10-trip Metrobus ticket costs 7.40 EUR, valid for both Metro & city buses. 2. The Metro also connects to stations of the Spanish railway network. The Cercanias link between Chamartin Station and Terminal 4 has recently been completed and now connects T4 not only with Chamartin Station, but also with Atocha AVE high-speed train stations. 3. EMT buses make regular runs between the Airport and Madrid’s Avenida de America station. 6 Located just 12 km / 7.5 miles south of Girona (Gerona) city centre and next to both Riudellots de la Selva and Vilobi d'Onyar, Girona Costa Brava Airport (GRO) is the gateway, not only to the beautiful Costa Brava, but also to the majestic Pyrenees and the Catalonian capital of Barcelona. Since Ryanair made it one of its European destinations, the airport has experienced an upsurge in passenger numbers and now serves more than four million visitors each year. Girona Costa Brava Airport features regular services to all parts of the UK and Ireland, as well as to major EU cities. The airport is well poised to continue its growth as one of Spain's busiest aviation hubs and is positioned just off the AP-7 tollway, which runs from northern France to south-west Spain. Costa Brava Airport is also situated near to the C-25 and the N-II highways. This network of routes ensures fast access between the airport and Girona (15 minutes), Costa Brava (15 minutes), Barcelona (up to 90 minutes) and into the Pyrenees.
