2 NWEA scores must be at or above grade level Pass all core classes with a grade of a C or better If their scores are low and they fail more than 2 core courses they may have to:  Repeat the 8 th grade  Complete failed course during summer school, you must pay to participate in summer school.

3 Students will earn.5 credit for each semester class that you pass. Students must earn a D or better to earn a.5 credit for class. If students fail a course, they may have to complete a credit recovery class outside of the regular school day and pay for the course ($150 for each.5 credit) Students can only earn credit in a course one time. If they repeat a course they have passed, they will not earn additional credit. In order to go to college, students will need to take at least 2 years of the SAME foreign language (i.e. Spanish 1 (A&B) and Spanish 2 (A &B).

4 Every year students will be required to take: Math English Social Studies Science

7 Provides the opportunity to take college courses (CNM or UNM) for high school elective credit. You do not have to pay tuition. You must have completed ninth grade. You have to be accepted by CNM. 1-2 College Credits=.5 HS Elective 3-4 College Credits= 1 HS Elective Make sure students see their counselor to sign forms

8  Classes are taken on-line.  Students may not take PE or lab science on-line.  Students must see their counselor before registering for an on-line course.

9  College level classes offered at the high school  Possible opportunity to earn college credit  Must take AP exam for credit  Exams are approximately $87  AP classes are weighted by 1 point

11  DO NOT duplicate classes.  Follow the sequences of classes (ie. Languages and electives) Colleges want to see the same language taken back to back. Must take Intro to Art before Drawing or Pottery.  Be thoughtful of student choices; there will be NO SCHEDULE CHANGES.

12  Classes with an A or B are year long classes. You must sign up for both. (ie. German 1A and German 1B)  PE Credit can only be earned by taking 1 year of PE, 2 years of ROTC or 2 years of marching band  If a class has a (f), (t), (m) or (s) these classes will meet the requirements for Fine Arts (f), Technology (t), Math (m) and Science (s).

13  Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 to participate in any sports and no more than one F. Some sports require a higher GPA.  Athletes are required to attend the high school they are assigned (based on residency) in order to play on a varsity team.  Anyone violating this policy may be removed from their sport and jeopardize their team’s success.

14  Class selections determine if a class is going to be offered.  If too few people sign up for a class, the class will not be offered.
