23 ISSUES: MI KURUKSHETRA UNIVERSITY, First half-Yearly (1-10- 2010 to 31-03-2011) ISSUES: MI KURUKSHETRA UNIVERSITY, First half-Yearly (1-10- 2010 to 31-03-2011) (Bhiwani, Kaithal, Sonipat, Kurukshetra, Hisar, ) Bhiwani 1. It was found that in six schools MDM was not cooked during the period. 2. In 34.5% schools, food grains were stored in classroom, in 10 % schools food grains were stored in office and in 15% schools in store 2. In 34.5% schools, food grains were stored in classroom, in 10 % schools food grains were stored in office and in 15% schools in store. 3. In 30% schools, food was cooked in classroom, in 47.5% schools food was cooked in open area and in 12.5% schools food was cooked at other places. Bhiwani 1. It was found that in six schools MDM was not cooked during the period. 2. In 34.5% schools, food grains were stored in classroom, in 10 % schools food grains were stored in office and in 15% schools in store 2. In 7 schools food grain supply was delayed by one month. 3.Till 31/05/2011, no state level official of MDM had visited the schools for inspection.

25 ISSUES: MI KURUKSHETRA UNIVERSITY, KURUKSHETRA ISSUES: MI KURUKSHETRA UNIVERSITY, KURUKSHETRA Hisar 1. It was found that in four schools MDM was not cooked during the period. 2. In 4 schools food grain supply was delayed by one month. 3. Till 31/05/2011, none of the state level official of MDM had visited the schools for inspection. 4. In 67.5% schools food was cooked in open area and in 27.5% schools food was cooked at other places. Hisar 1. It was found that in four schools MDM was not cooked during the period. 2. In 4 schools food grain supply was delayed by one month. 3. Till 31/05/2011, none of the state level official of MDM had visited the schools for inspection. 4. In 67.5% schools food was cooked in open area and in 27.5% schools food was cooked at other places.

In 4 schools food grain supply was delayed by one month. 3. In 5 schools the frequency of serving mid-day meal was irregular due to irregular supply of food grain/ non- availability of food grain. 4. In two schools it was found that fuel was stored in classroom posing danger to life of school children. 5. Till 31/05/2011, none of the state level official of MDM had visited the schools for inspection. SONEPAT 1. It was found that in four schools MDM was not cooked during the period. 2. In 4 schools food grain supply was delayed by one month. 3. In 5 schools the frequency of serving mid-day meal was irregular due to irregular supply of food grain/ non- availability of food grain. 4. In two schools it was found that fuel was stored in classroom posing danger to life of school children. 5. Till 31/05/2011, none of the state level official of MDM had visited the schools for inspection.

27 ISSUES  Less Utilization of foodgrains. Achievement  Ministry of New and Renewable Energy have issued funds to HAREDA for installing 4 solar cookers in 4 schools of three Districts for cooking Mid Day meal on a pilot basis.
