2 2 Geo LoB Update Provided presentation on LoB status to SAOGIs at 10/24 FGDC Steering Committee Meeting DOI working on Contract Modification to align contractor resources with agreed-upon tasks from FY 2009 JBC – no change in agency contributions FGDC in process of hiring Senior Project Manager to assist with management of LoB Draft memo from FGDC Chair Lynn Scarlett to SAOGIS regarding sunsetting of LoB Task Force and transfer of LoB oversight responsibility to FGDC Coordination Group is under review

3 3 FY 08/09 LoB Tasks *Tasks defined in FY 2009 Joint Business Case Task 1: Review/Update FGDC Guidance Documents Task 2: Evaluate and define the nine stages of the geospatial data life cycle and identify common capabilities to allow cost- benefit ROI for shared services Task 3: Define and establish A-16 data steward lifecycle responsibilities and performance measures Task 4: Expand smart-buy (and alternatives) efforts for geospatial data and technologies Task 5: Develop outreach programs to demonstrate the value of “place based” approaches and geospatial technology

10 10 National Geospatial Advisory Committee - Update Committee appointments package in final review/approval process within Office of the Secretary of Interior Appointment letters will be issued to committee members Press release announcing appointments will be issued by DOI Final committee charter will be filed with GSA Office of Committee Management / Notice of committee establishment will be posted in Federal Register for 15 days Initial organizational committee meetings (develop bylaws, procedures, etc.) will be held after the first of the year Public meetings will be scheduled following initial organizational meetings
