Agenda Summary Update – Current Activities – Updates (Matt – Cavity Refurbishment) – Additional Meetings/Notes

Updates Linac – SBK: Work at CPI continues – – LN: Preparing for shutdown install. Work continues on safety interlocks and beam quality. Still talking to vendor. – Modulator: Software/feedback studies continue, Work progressing on build up of modulator for shutdown. – Utilities: completed – task closed Booster – Beam Studies: Cogging: Largely operational – BES sync fine tuning continues – found a bucket difference between MI/Recycler RF Booster optics software – Making chrom measurements today Booster Longitudinal dampers – New card being tested – will try and test mode 2 maybe today? Booster BPMs – Working on firmware design…. Collimators – during access last week…collimators were moved for testing – one seems to be stuck? – RF: Refurbished cavity work: A 17 refurb installed last week – Next cavity ceramic window failed during brazing! Another attempt today – Talk by Matt 15 Hz cycling will begin last week. Plan is ramp up using TLG the Booster cycle rate – More Details to follow….. New Tuners – TD has repaired the two tuners that had an error in the ferrite placement and next tuner in pipeline – Vendor delivered first partial batch of ferrites – they all tested positively. Plan to have next set here end of month? – Pat/John preparing for delivery of next set of ferrites to TD. John has list….from Pat – Bias Supplies: Have three in process and one more reaming in gallery? Not sure if #7 was tested and shipped Anode Supplies: Making plans to testing and install. Starting testing yesterday – issues with inrush current/crane Transformer: Will be installed when east anode goes in…recent meeting presented schedule by Ryan. Perpendicular cavity: Work on test cavity proceeding, refining simulations Stations 20, 21 & 22: starting to ramp up activity on 20 th upstairs – cabling and rack work will begin @ shutdown Rework of cavities 21 & 22: Matt Talk today New cavities: Dialogue with management still ongoing – working on design details – Shielding: TLMs testing completed – Official approval was received from DOE/Safety that TLMs can be used. – Absorber/Kicker: Completed for now – working on optimizing position

15 Hz testing Will ramp up again today and look at some recently installed thermistors. May make a power on access to look at the pulsed devices with thermal gun. Issues so far found: Chopper Off tube getting hot – tube standoffs starting to outgas due to high temp RF cavities 17 & 18 bias supplies share a penetration and have very high temps Put on thermistors (data logged) and added some air cooling BEAM to BNB!! This week a BNB user came on line so we have increased the flux. Also have run beam on $17. This is the first time we have demonstrated 15 Hz beam operations!

Recent PIP Budget/News FY15 Budget: Discussions of task updates/consolidation with Ann just about done! Update of RLS – Some Booster items remain – Mostly cavities related Meetings to discuss transition PIP to PIP-II continue….working towards completion/agreement spring – PIP II review has kept people busy… Lab is going through budgets: PIP submitted PIP PMG – Aug No Sergei - PIP meeting this week Bob will try and set up PIP physics workshop

Upcoming Talks 15 Hz East/West gallery – John Laser Notcher (pre-install update) – Dave Salah Chaurize – Notch system operations Keith/Tony – TLM install and operations New Cavities(plans) Install of Cavity 21 and 22 (plans)
