4. Enrollment for JMU Classes
When can I enroll in fall JMU classes?
If your last name starts with A-K, you will enroll on June 6.
If your last name starts with L-Z, you will enroll on June 7.
You will have an enrollment appointment from 1:30-6:00PM.

5. Enrollment Dates & Deadlines
Add & Drop Deadline
Last day to make changes to your schedule
Withdraw with a “W” grade
Last day to get out of a class
“W” has no impact on your GPA
Remember: you must stay enrolled in at least 12 credits to be full time

12. Add/Drop/Swap Add a class: Put a class on your schedule.
Also called enroll/enrolling or register/registering.
Drop a class: Take a class off your schedule.
Also called unenroll/unenrolling.
Swap a classes: Drop a class and add a class at the same time (simultaneously).
Kind of like trade/trading classes.
Don’t allow them to drop below 12 credits
What is the max number of credits freshman are allowed to enroll in, prior to open enrollment: 17
Do second semester freshman need their freshman advisor to add, drop, swap credits
  Advisor hold will be removed October 28th so when registering for next term’s classes they will not need approval. 
However, if they are attempting to withdraw from a class or perform some other type of course adjustment for this term then they will need advisor approval.

Permission to join a class that is already full or for which you do not meet the prerequisite.
Override procedures are different in different departments.
Students should watch for an with details of overrides.
If you are granted an override for a course, you must ENROLL in the class via MyMadison!
The override does NOT automatically enroll you in the class.
