4 4 Logging in to the Student Information System (SIS) The student will login to OneStart then click the Self-Service tab. Menu

5 5 First Steps Review Schedule of Classes for course offerings for the upcoming term. Meet with your academic advisor. Check your registration appointment. View holds on your record. Select classes and alternative classes. Make sure you have received any necessary approvals or permissions to enroll in classes requiring permission. Register for classes. Monitor your IU and Oncourse e-mail.

6 6 Meet with Your Academic Advisor Schedule an appointment with your academic advisor. Meet with your academic advisor to review course offerings and your enrollment options. Discuss removal of any advising holds.

7 7 Schedule of Classes Click the Class Schedule link to open the Schedule of Classes information page. Menu Click the Class Schedule link to open the Schedule of Classes information page.

8 8 Schedule of Classes The Schedule of Classes information page displays information regarding the Schedule of Classes as well as links to class schedules. Click the Class Schedule: Active link to open the Class Search Select Institution and Term page.

9 9 Schedule of Classes Select an Institution and Term then click the appropriate search button. Select an Institution and Term. Click the appropriate Search button. Our example uses the Basic Search option.

10 10 Schedule of Classes Click the to display the Class Search Basic Class Search page. Enter a minimum of Subject and Catalog Number. Click Search to display the Class Search Class Search Results page.

11 11 Schedule of Classes The Class Search Class Search Results page is displayed. Click the Details button to display more detailed information about a particular class.

12 12 Schedule of Classes The Class Search Class Search Detail page is displayed. Use these links to perform other tasks such as another search, view search results, view Course Catalog Detail or return to the Select Institution and Term page.

13 13 Schedule of Classes You can click any of the links along the bottom of the Class Search Detail page to perform another search, return to the search results, move to the course catalog detail or return to the Select Institution and Term page.

14 14 Course Descriptions Click the Course Descriptions link to move to the Your link to Indiana University Course Descriptions page. Menu Click this link to view the Your link to Indiana University Course Descriptions page.

15 15 Course Descriptions The Your link to Indiana University Course Descriptions page displays links for each campus. Click the appropriate campus link.

16 16 Course Descriptions Click the appropriate campus link to view campus bulletin courses for that campus.

17 17 Course Descriptions Click the appropriate school to display information specific to that school. Follow the appropriate links to obtain information regarding a specific program in that school.

18 18 Check Your Registration Appointment Menu Click this link to check your registration appointment. This will display a list of terms.

19 19 Check Your Registration Appointment If no appointments exist, a “no enrollment appointments” message will be displayed. If you have no registration appointments, contact the Office of the Registrar on your campus. Ima Sudent

21 21 Check Your Registration Appointment When you click the appropriate term any registration appointments for that term will be displayed. Click the Select a Different Term link to return to the View Enrollment Appointment Search Results page. Ima Sudent

22 22 Class Schedule Click the Class Schedule link to display the Class Schedule information page. Menu Click the Class Schedule link to display the Class Schedule information page.

23 23 Class Schedule Click the View My Class Schedule – List link to display the View My Class Schedule Select Term page.

24 24 Class Schedule Click the appropriate term link to display the Class Schedule View Details page.

25 25 Class Schedule Click the appropriate course link to view detailed information for that course.

26 26 Class Schedule From the Class Schedule information page, click the View My Class Schedule – Weekly link at the bottom of the page to view the Weekly Schedule page.

27 27 To Do List Click the To Do List link in either the “Personal Info” or “Bursar & Financial Aid” channels to view your To Do List items if any exist. Menu Click the To Do List link to view any existing To Do List items.

28 28 To Do List If no items are assigned, a no items message will be displayed.

29 29 View Holds on your Record Holds on your record will block your enrollment. Click the Holds on My Record link in the “Registration & Classes” channel. Menu Click this link to check holds on your record.

30 30 Ima Sudent View Holds on your Record Any holds on the record will be displayed. Click the Hold Item link to view detailed information about the hold and how to address it.

31 31 Ima Sudent View Holds on your Record The Your Holds Hold Item page gives you detailed information about a hold on your record and instructions for releasing the hold. Instructions to release the hold. Click this link to return to the Holds Summary page.

32 32 View Holds on your Record A common hold that may appear on your record is one pertaining to the Immunization Compliance Form. This form must be completed by the second (2 nd ) major semester of enrollment

33 33 Class Permissions Some courses require permission of the department to enroll. These will be denoted by PERM (permission) or RSTR (restricted, typically to students in the course school) next to the Class Number. You might also need permission to enroll if the course has a prerequisite that you may not have completed. Menu

34 34 Class Permissions If you need permission to enroll in the course, contact the department teaching the course. If the department grants permission for you to enroll in the course, it will appear on the Class Permission page.

35 35 Class Permissions Menu Click this link to see if you have been granted permission to attend restricted courses. When you click this link a list of school terms is displayed. Click the appropriate term to view your permissions for that term.

36 36 Class Permissions Select the appropriate term to view your class permissions for that term.

37 37 Class Permissions If you have not been granted permission to enroll in a restricted class the course will not appear below. Ima Student

38 38 Class Permissions If you have been granted permission to enroll in a restricted class, you will see it listed.

41 41 Register for Classes – Add The list of available terms will be displayed. Menu Click here to begin the registration process.

42 42 Register for Classes – Add Review the information displayed on the Quick Tips to Search for a Class page then click the Continue With Registration link at the bottom of the page.

43 43 Register for Classes – Add The Enrollment Select Enrollment Term page will open. Click the appropriate term from the list to select it. If your desired term does not appear on the list, contact the Office of the Registrar on your campus. Ima Sudent

44 44 Register for Classes – Add For students attending the Bloomington campus only, the Schedule Adjustment Access Fee Information page will be displayed. When the Fee Information page is displayed, read the information then click to continue with registration.

45 45 Ima Sudent Register for Classes – Add The Enrollment View My Schedule page will be displayed. Click this link to add classes to your schedule.

46 46 Ima Sudent Register for Classes – Add The Enrollment Add Classes page will then be displayed. If you try to drop/add a class beyond the deadline, an error message is displayed explaining that the drop/add was not processed because the on-line drop and add is no longer available for the semester. Instructions for registering or adding classes are provided.

47 47 Register for Classes – Add Enter the Class Number (previously known as Section Number) in the Class Nbr field or use to look it up. Then press TAB.

48 48 Register for Classes – Add Click to begin the search and display the Basic Class Search page. Enter the Subject or use the lookup button ( ) to look it up. This is a required field. Something must be entered in this field to have a successful search. If you know the Catalog Number enter it in the Catalog Number field. You can select Course Component, Course Career, Session, Campus and Location from the drop-down boxes or leave them blank. The more information you include, the more refined your search will be. Click the Open Classes Only check box to search only for open classes. To include closed classes in the search, leave this check box unchecked.

49 49 Register for Classes – Add The Advanced Search adds these options to the search criteria. Enter the Subject or use the lookup button ( ) to look it up. This is a required field. Something must be entered in this field to have a successful search. Click to display Class Search Results.

50 50 Register for Classes – Add Select which days of the week to include or exclude. Include/Exclude options: - Include Only These Days - Include Any Of These Days - Exclude Only These Days - Exclude Any Of These Days Class Start Time can be included in the search. You can also search on the instructor’s first and/or last name using exact match or wildcards.

51 51 Register for Classes – Add Click to obtain more information about a particular class. These links allow you to move to the Basic Search or Advanced Search pages or return to the Add Classes page.

52 52 Register for Classes – Add The Class Search Details page can be used to look for special meeting or course prerequisite information. These links allow you to move to the Basic Search, Advanced Search, Search Results or Course Catalog Detail pages or return to the Add Classes page. Use the Search Results link to get back to the list of classes.

53 53 Register for Classes – Add Once you have entered a Class Number, the “Subject/Catalog #” and “Units” fields will be filled in and an “Ok to Waitlist?” checkbox will become available.

54 54 Ima Sudent Register for Classes – Add The “Ok to Waitlist?” checkbox is used when the selected class is closed but you would like to be placed on the waitlist. Please note that IU Southeast does not use waitlists. Is there a class you would like to drop if you are successfully placed in the requested class? If so, you can list the class to be dropped in the “Drop if Enrolled” field. Either enter the Class Number in the “Drop in Enrolled” field or use to look up the Class Number

55 55 Register for Classes – Add Once you’ve completed your entries, click to submit your course registration. Check the “Add Status” column to verify your registration request was successful.

56 56 Ima Sudent Register for Classes – Add Check this column to verify your registration request was successful.

57 57 Register for Classes – Add If you receive the message “Errors found” click on the link for information about the error and how to correct it. Click the Errors found link to view information about the error(s). If you try to drop/add a class beyond the deadline, an error message is displayed explaining that the drop/add was not processed because the on-line drop and add is no longer available for the semester.

58 58 Ima Student Register for Classes – Add The “Message Text” tells you what is wrong and what you need to do to fix the problem. Click Cancel to return to the Enrollment Add Classes page.

59 59 Register for Classes – Add To add other classes, click the Add Another Class link located below the Class Number you added.

61 61 Teacher,Thomas Register for Classes – Add When selecting classes, you may see some classes listed without a Select button ( ). This indicates that there is a lecture AND a lab or discussion portion for this class.

62 62 Register for Classes – Add You only need to select the lab or discussion. Once you’ve made that selection, the system will automatically select the appropriate lecture class that corresponds with the lab or discussion you chose.

64 64 Register for Classes – Add In some instances the system does not automatically enroll you in related components and instead tells you that you need to select them. For example, choose one lecture and one discussion from the list. Select “Related Components”. For example, choose one lecture and one discussion from the list.

66 66 Register for Classes – Add Once you have confirmed that your schedule is correct, click to complete the process. The Optional Fees for Student page will be displayed.

67 67 Register for Classes – Add Click to submit your fee choices. Click to continue to the next page. The Optional Fees for a Student page will be individualized for each campus. Select the fees you want to include by clicking on the appropriate check box.

68 68 Ima Sudent Register for Classes – Add When you click to go to the next page, you are given the opportunity to update your address information. Click this link to add a new address. Click this link to update your address. If no changes are needed, click here to continue to the next page.

76 76 Register for Classes – Drop Select the appropriate action from the drop-down list. Then click to complete the action. If you try to drop/add a class beyond the deadline, an error message is displayed explaining that the drop/add was not processed because the on-line drop and add is no longer available for the semester.

77 77 Register for Classes – Drop Click the View My Schedule link to return to the Enrollment View My Schedule page and confirm that the course has been removed from your schedule. This is the dropped class. Click this link to return to the Enrollment View My Schedule page.

78 78 Register for Classes – Drop Once you have confirmed that your schedule is correct, click to complete the process. The Optional Fees for Student page will be displayed.

79 79 Ima Sudent Register for Classes – Drop After going through the Optional Fees pages, you are given the opportunity to update your address information. Click this link to add a new address. If no changes are needed, click here to continue to the next page. Click this link to update your address.

81 81 Ima Sudent Register for Classes – Swap Use the Swap Classes link to drop one class and add another in its place. This process lets you add and drop at the same time instead of having to drop then go back and add. Click this link to add a class in place of another. Menu

82 82 Ima Sudent Register for Classes – Swap From the Enrollment Swap Classes page, find the class you want to drop then enter the Class Number for the class you want to add in the Class Nbr field or use to search for the appropriate class.

83 83 Ima Sudent Register for Classes – Swap Once you enter the Class Number, the “Subject/Catalog #”, “Section” and “Units” will be filled in automatically. Click to complete the swap. The “drop” is completed only if the “add” is successful.

84 84 Register for Classes – Swap When the “Swap Status” changes from “Pending” to “Success”, if you are finished with Registration, click to complete the process. When Swap Status says “Success”, if you are finished with Registration, click the Registration Complete button.

89 89 Final Exam Schedule Click the appropriate campus link to display the Academic calendar for that particular campus.

90 90 Final Exam Schedule The Academic Calendar page displays calendar information and the Final Exam Schedule links for each term.

91 91 Final Exam Schedule Click the appropriate term link to display the Final Exam Schedule.
