5 BY the end of the lesson, the students will have:  learnt that each of the principle tense has four forms.  learnt the details of the four forms of present tense.  learnt the uses of present tense in your life situation.

10 Here we have seen four different types of sentences. All these sentences indicates the present. Present tense is the form of language used to refer to an event, transaction, or occurrence which is happening now (or at the present time), or an object that currently exists.

12 Present Indefinite Present Indefinite Tense is used to express: a) permanent states and permanent truths. b) repetitive actions c) instant actions. For Example: I do the work. He catches fish. They play cricket. Bangladesh is a beautiful country.

14 Present Continuous Present Continuous Tense is used to express: a) developing situations. b) actions that are actually taking place. c) future actions. For Example: I am doing the work. He is catching fish. Karim is swimming in the pond. They are going to open a bank account.

16 Present Prefect Present Perfect Tense is used to express: a) just finished situations. b) actions that happened right now. For Example: I have eaten rice. He has played cricket match. They have reached home safely.

18 Present Prefect Continuous We use the Present Perfect Continuous to show that something started in the past and has continued up until now. "For five minutes," "for two weeks," and "since Tuesday" are all durations which can be used with the Present Perfect Continuous. For Example: They have been talking for the last hour. She has been working at that company for three years. What have you been doing for the last 30 minutes? Nabil has been teaching at the university since June. We have been waiting here for over two hours!
