2 What have you done that has made you proud or made others proud of you?

3 Moments to shine Perhaps you’ve... swum your very first length of the pool learnt to ride a bike learnt to ski

4 Moments to shine Maybe you’ve... undertaken a sponsored run, walk or cycle ride and raised money for a charity met one of your own goals for physical activity as you travel, with ParalympicsGB and Team GB, on the Road to Rio Check out the app.

5 Moments to shine Perhaps you’ve... done something you were at first scared of doing e.g. taken part in a performance with your classmates or friends done something unexpected to make someone happy helped someone who was upset

6 What does it take to do something that you are really proud of? courage hard work lots of practice determination

7 You’re going to see some pictures of people who have made their families, friends, fans and the wider public proud of them. Why do you think we are proud of them?

8 Thumbs up to Ellie Simmonds Her achievements are numerous. Imagine how proud you would be if you had: won your first Paralympic gold medal at the age of 13 broken a world record become the youngest winner of the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award been awarded an MBE at the age of 14 years

9 Let’s applaud Baroness Tanni Grey- Thompson In the world of athletics Tanni has won 11 gold medals. She has a BA in Politics, is a member of the House of Lords and a Dame Commander of the British Empire (DBE). You may have seen her commentating on TV too.

10 Give a cheer for Kelly Gallagher Visually impaired, Kelly, and Charlotte, her sighted guide, won Paralympic gold at the Sochi 2014 Paralympic Winter Games. Wow! Well done Kelly and Charlotte, the first Britons ever to win a Paralympic or Olympic gold medal on snow.

11 Show your appreciation for Sarah Storey What fantastic achievements. Sarah is one of Great Britain's most decorated female Paralympic athletes. She’s won 11 gold, 8 silver and 3 bronze medals in swimming and cycling. Sarah won 4 of these gold medals at the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

12 Marvel at the many talents of Francesca Martinez Francesca appeared in Grange Hill (BBC1 / CBBC) and episodes of Holby City. She is now an award- winning stand-up comedian and bestselling author.

13 Celebrate the achievements of Christopher John-Slater During his teenager years Christopher, an actor, starred in Tracey Beaker Returns. He also played the character of Frank in The Dumping Ground (CBBC). Christopher dreams of being in a Hollywood film. Good luck with your dream, Christopher.

19 Get Creative! Look out for stories that shine a light on the extraordinary achievements of ordinary disabled people and help to take the Paralympic Movement – and the Values – forward. Create a film, tell somebody what you’ve found out, write a story, write a newspaper article or represent your ideas visually.
