2 History it is believed that Irish road bowling was far more played than it is nowwa days. Back in the seventeenth century irish road bowling was one of the most popular sports in Ireland.

3 History Until the 19th century, the game was also played in Scotland, the north of England and in North America. In the past, players were given twenty shots each, the winner determined by who went the greatest distance.

4 Irish road bowling Irish road bowling is a Irish sport which you attempt to take the fewest throws to propel a metal ball down a course of country roads. The sport was created in Ireland and is mainly played in few counties there.

5 How to play You take a metal ball about the size of a tennis ball, and throw it as far as you can and let it roll. First one to the finish line with the least amount of throws wins the match.

7 Equipment Metal ball- this light weight ball is to be thrown down the road. its about the size of a tennis ball and can be painted colors. Country roads- this is where you play this form of bowling. These roads are usually winding roads to make it harder.

8 Equipment A Arm- your arm is the biggest part you need to get the ball down the roads. If you have bad shoulders your pretty much screwed at this. Tennis shoes- tennis shoe provide the best grip you could get or it when your trying to major spin on the ball.

9 Scoring For scoring in irish road bowling basically all your doing is keeping track of how many throws each competitor has. the one witht the least amount of throws getting to the finish line wins.

10 Facts The game can be played between individuals and teams A chalk dash is made at the nearest point on the road to where the ball stops, marking the point where the next shot must be made
